Hess was founded by Günter Hess in the small German town of Olbernhau in 1990. At first, Mr. Hess worked on the toys by himself in his basement and garage; today, the company employs more than 50 people. All toys are assembled by hand. Hess focuses on products for babies and toddlers, making toy safety a top priority. All toys comply with EN 71 and other applicable safety regulations. The company manufactures a wide range of colourful and innovative toys for children. From pacifier chains and rattles to puzzles and rocking horses, all Hess toys are made 100% in Germany. Hess uses only locally sourced wood, such as beech and maple. Their goal is to make children's lives a little more interesting while supporting and accompanying them in their development.
