Story:

In the early 19th century, it was said that scientific development in the United Kingdom was barren. Then that changed when provincial philosophical societies began to flourish in the United Kingdom. People could meet there and hear about the latest discoveries and inventions. William Whewell, a member of Cambridge University, became one of the founders of the Cambridge Philosophical Society in 1819. This society transformed the major English universities into the world's leading centers of scientific research that we know today. The term "scientist" did not even exist at the time until William Whewell coined it in 1833. It is believed that there was only one condition for membership in the Philosophical Society. Applicants had to pass an entrance challenge by opening a mechanical box called the "Cambridge Labyrinth," invented by William Whewell himself. Now you have the opportunity to take on the challenge that was the first step into the world of science and technology for many inventors!
