Magellan is based in Bamberg, Germany, and was founded in 2014 as a non-corporate publisher of children's and young adult literature. To keep their carbon footprint as low as possible, they produce their products mainly in Germany, and in exceptional cases in neighboring European countries. They print most of their books on FSC® paper, use vegetable oil-based inks, solvent-free adhesives, and water-based varnishes, and they also avoid plastic packaging to reduce waste. In addition, they support good animal welfare around the world and, among other things, plant trees in local forests. The Magellan team consists of twenty employees who create innovative products with great designs and spectacular stories for young readers – the future of our planet!
