The German company Noch was founded in 1911 by Oswald Noch as a plumbing company. Over the past 100 years, it has survived two world wars and nationalization in the GDR. It has been manufacturing model trains and accessories for the past 75 years, initially as a side business. Later, it came to the fore and slowly but surely brought the company to where it is today. Noch is now run by the fourth generation and employs over 80 people. During its more than 100-year history, Noch has made many technical innovations, and its products have revolutionized the production of model railways. These include realistic grass and trees, and technology for producing model buildings and figures. As their logo says, Noch models are like the real thing.
