Accessories

Petitcollin was founded by Nicolas Petitcollin in 1860 in Étain, France, originally as a manufacturer of horn combs and later celluloid cosmetic accessories. In 1912, the Petit Colin bathing doll was born, the brand's flagship product, which revolutionized the world of dolls with its affordable price. Petitcollin became a very successful and innovative company, one of the most prestigious French doll manufacturers. In 1961, Petitcollin adapted its production to rotational molding, which made it possible to produce hollow vinyl parts, especially doll heads and limbs, in the form we know today.

In 1995, after a difficult period, it was bought out by Vilac, a manufacturer of wooden toys from Jura. Petitcollin is now the oldest and last remaining factory producing dolls and bathtubs in France. Since 1998, the factory has been open to the public, sharing its history and know-how. In 2007, Petitcollin received the "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" national award, which is given to French companies that preserve cultural heritage and excel in craftsmanship and industrial know-how. In 2009, Petitcollin registered the "Ecolo Doll" brand for dolls manufactured in accordance with a sustainable approach, equipped with clothing from European manufacturers, made from genuine organic cotton grown without pesticides.

Petitcollin now offers around a hundred dolls with elaborate outfits and a high level of craftsmanship, which it continues to improve. Over the last five years, the company has significantly renewed its ranges. 2015 marked the beginning of a beautiful partnership with Sylvia Natterer, a famous doll designer who still collaborates on the creation of Petitcollin collections today.
