The legendary V 160 / 216 series locomotive was one of the most important diesel locomotives of the Deutsche Bundesbahn in the 1960s and 1970s. It was designed for express and fast trains on tracks without overhead lines and became a symbol of German railways at that time. PIKO presents a completely new design of this iconic locomotive, which fills a gap in the range and will delight all modelers of eras III to V. The model faithfully captures the typical appearance of the BR 216 DB AG locomotive in era V, i.e., from the 1990s. The locomotive is painted in oriental red with a light gray "face" (known as Latz). This variant appears for the first time without a snow plow, but with handles for shunting on the frame – exactly as in real life.
