Exclusive set of the diesel-electric freight train "Wood from Southern Thuringia" of the private carrier WFL, released on the occasion of the open house at the PIKO factory in Sonneberg. The train is powered by a precisely crafted BR 232 "Ludmilla" locomotive, which offers exceptional driving characteristics thanks to its six axles, long cast zinc frame with high weight, and powerful motor equipped with flywheels. The model also stands out for its many faithfully reproduced exterior details, such as the engine room windows, ventilation outlets, steps, and door railings. Its white/red directional LED lighting changes depending on the direction of travel, and the driver's cab is also illuminated.

The model is crowned with a digital decoder with a sound module and a large speaker, which contains a library of sounds faithful to the original and allows advanced control of the lights and cab lighting. It is compatible with DCC, Rail‑ComPlus®, Motorola®, and Selectrix® protocols and also allows operation in analog mode. It can intelligently recognize the appropriate operating mode. With PIKO SmartControl control units or units compatible with the mfx® format, it offers a wide range of individual mapping options.

The locomotive is then connected to a trio of long Roos-t642 flat cars with removable stanchions and carefully crafted timber cargo. The cars are sensitively rendered and authentically capture even the smallest details of everyday operation.
