The three-car set "Rheingold" by AKE-Eisenbahntouristik is a detailed model in H0 scale (1:87) and consists of a 1st class compartment car Avmz 111.5, a bistro car ARkimbz 262.7 and a 1st class compartment car Avmz 111.0 with a rounded roof. Compartment car 19-90 251 was built in 1973 as 19-70 164 with sliding doors and was used in the TEE Rheingold ’83 set. Bistro car 85-91 712 was built in 1971 as Pop-ABüm 225 31-70 149. Compartment car 19-94 040 was built in 1965 with a rounded roof and has been used on the Bavarian ALEX line since 2003, among others. The set includes exact replicas of various window films and detailed bogies. The historic AKE Rheingold train was created in 1988, when AKE operated special trips with steam locomotives and buses. Since 2005, AKE has gradually built up its own fleet, mainly from TEE cars built between 1962 and 1974, which have been restored to their original beige-purple-red paint with black-and-gray lower parts. Today, this train comfortably transports passengers to Germany, Denmark, Austria, northern Italy and Switzerland. The set can be extended to the usual 13 to 14 cars.
