To replace the outdated M 131.1 series railcars, the Czechoslovak State Railways purchased new two-axle railcars designated as the M 152.0 series.  The cars, which were delivered in series from 1975, were powered by an inline six-cylinder engine with an output of 155 kW and reached a maximum speed of 80 km/h. The passenger compartment had 56 seats. After January 1, 1993, when Czechoslovakia split into the successor states of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the cars were divided between the newly formed state railways ČD and ŽSR. Since December 2004, these cars have been part of the successor company ZSSK in Slovakia.

The model is a new product, created by overprinting some details of an already manufactured model, such as the vehicle number or inscriptions on the frame. Upon closer inspection, the original markings may still be recognizable.
