The Ugears 3D wooden mechanical puzzle Mars Rover can be an original gift! The sophisticated model has 6x6 all-wheel drive, a cabin for two astronauts, a spring motor, a swivel joint between the cabin and the body, and fully sprung independent suspension. It boasts a forward-shifted front center line for better climbing and stability, front wheels that turn for better maneuverability, and large-diameter wheels for overcoming obstacles. The ramp folds down at the rear, while the top-mounted parabolic antenna rotates 360° and up and down. The buggy has a storage compartment that houses a ratchet wrench that winds the spring motor. There is a slide switch on the left rear panel for Start/Stop. When in the Stop position, turn the ratchet wrench several times, then close the shaft, switch the switch to the Start position, set up an obstacle course, and watch as the six wheels absorb bumps thanks to independent suspension and rubberized wheels provide traction on smooth surfaces.

Laser engraving provides a level of detail and realism. You can place a sticker with the official NASA insignia on the right side panel. The insignia, in use since 1959, features a blue sphere representing the planet, a red V-shaped wing representing aviation, stars representing space, and a white circular track around the space agency's name. NASA insignia and identifiers provided and used with permission of NASA.

NASA's Artemis II mission, scheduled for launch in November 2024, will pave the way for a permanent lunar base and eventually a crewed mission to Mars. If humanity makes it to Mars, it will need a way to move quickly and efficiently across the surface. Shortly after Neil Armstrong's first steps on the Moon (Apollo 11, July 21, 1969), astronauts David Scott and James Irwin raced across the lunar surface in a "moon buggy." (Apollo 15, July 31, 1971). The most scientifically interesting moon rocks would never have been collected if we hadn't taken a car into space to explore a larger area. The LRV ("Lunar Roving Vehicle") was an impressive piece of technology developed by two engineers from General Motors, Mieczyslaw Gregory Bekker, born in Poland, and Ferenc Pavlics, born in Hungary. It had to carry twice its weight of 209 kg, withstand micrometeoroids traveling faster than bullets, and function reliably in temperature swings of 500° F. Three LRVs remain in long-term parking on the lunar surface.
