The European family business Bajo has been making wooden toys since 1993. It was founded in the foothill village of Kamionna in Poland. After the company was founded, the products were manufactured by retirees and people with disabilities, using local wood from old orchards. Everything was led by experienced founders who are professional designers and teach at the Technical University of Krakow. This is how Bajo began designing, manufacturing, and selling its own toys. Even today, they still employ people who are disadvantaged in the labor market. They now use renewable materials that can be easily recycled, such as sustainable wood from deciduous trees. They collect wood scraps from furniture and parquet manufacturers. They convert their own wood scraps from production into wood-based raw materials for further use. The company's educational expertise enables it to train young people from surrounding communities, vocational schools, and the Academy of Fine Arts. Bajo is also involved in local and European educational programs. They are partners with several therapy centers and children's homes. Bajo's goal is to produce high-quality toys that will last a long time. They use as many renewable energy sources as possible in their production and have solar panels on the roof of their factory. They pride themselves on coexisting with the surrounding nature, as evidenced by the birds' nests in their buildings and the deer families in the woods around the factory.
