New for 2025 is the BR 720 ČSD IV diesel locomotive with integrated PIKO sound decoder. In the second half of the 1950s, the German Reichsbahn (DR) realized the urgent need to replace its aging class 80 steam locomotives. Since domestic manufacturers in the GDR were still testing their own V 60 locomotive at the time, the DR decided to order 20 units of the proven T 435.0 diesel locomotive from Czechoslovakia (ČSD), which was characterized by high reliability and robust construction in operation. The locomotives were classified by the DR under the designation V 75 (later BR 720) and were used primarily for shunting service in Leipzig and its surroundings. The model faithfully captures the characteristic details of the prototype, including free-standing railings, fine engravings, a detailed view of the cab, and authentic diesel sound. Digital functions allow for independently switchable cab lighting and registration plate lighting, which, combined with realistic sound, provides an impressive experience on the model railway.
