A sophisticated model of the BR 101 electric locomotive, released in a limited series to mark the 30th anniversary of PIKO Spielwaren GmbH. It features attractive paintwork and printing, making it stand out both on the track and in a display case. The faithfully reproduced, strictly aerodynamic body with side chassis covers features meticulously crafted details of handrails, steps, and platforms. The roof molding does not overlook any small details and is, of course, decorated with the inverted single-arm pantographs typical of this type of locomotive.

The prototype of the model is renowned for its performance and reliability, which have earned it the nickname "mileage guzzler." The miniature follows in the footsteps of its prototype and offers a powerful motor equipped with two flywheels for smooth speed changes. Torque is transmitted by diagonally arranged bandaged wheels on the inner axles of the chassis, but all four axles are driven. The functional directional lighting with triples of headlights at the front is faithfully reproduced, and the color of the lights changes depending on the direction of travel. The machine's cab is also attractively lit and is ready for the installation of digital controls that allow switching between ceiling lights and control panel lighting. The model can be expanded with a specially designed digital decoder with a sound module and speaker.
