A modern successor to the very popular and formerly widespread BR 78 series locomotive in the form of a completely new design from PIKO and also the first steam locomotive in the Expert product line. This model raises the already high standard of the Expert series even higher. Almost all piping is routed separately, and the driver's cab, water tanks, and smoke box are detailed with fine imitations of rivet heads. The wheel spokes and steam distribution are very finely crafted thanks to the materials used. Excellent driving characteristics are ensured by a five-pole PIKO motor with a flywheel. Additional weights in the boiler and two bandaged axle rings guarantee high tractive force. The locomotive is factory-equipped with a PIKO SmartDecoder with authentic vehicle sounds. A smoke generator is also integrated at the factory. LED lighting dependent on the direction of travel ensures a realistic operating atmosphere. Brake hoses for retrofitting are included in the package.
