The new product for 2025, bearing the DB logo, is a precisely manufactured model with attention to the smallest details. Another legend from the golden age of railways is coming to H0 gauge tracks – the versatile T 9.3 series steam locomotive in the BR 91.3 design. It was used both at the head of freight and passenger trains and for shunting, and it can be used just as universally on model railways. The model from the PIKO Expert series offers top-quality workmanship with an emphasis on the technical and aesthetic details of the prototype. The rounded roof of the driver's cab allows a view of the elaborate interior through the windows. A number of separately installed details, such as the whistle on the roof, the bell on the boiler, and authentic lights and pipes, underscore the high level of model workmanship. The chassis is also superbly crafted – zinc wheels and a fine brake rod give the model a realistic look. The model is ready for digital operation; after additional installation of a PIKO digital decoder, the lighting of the cab and chassis can be controlled separately. A real treat is the digitally switched LED simulating the reddish flickering of glowing coal in the combustion chamber. All lights, including two-way lighting according to the direction of travel, are made using modern and maintenance-free LED technology. The model is also ready for the additional installation of a sound decoder, which will further enhance the driving experience.
