The T 478 2079 ČSD diesel locomotive, also known among railway enthusiasts and model builders by the nickname Bardotka, is one of the most iconic locomotives of the Czechoslovak State Railways. This precisely crafted model faithfully reproduces the third production series with its characteristic ribbed side panels extending up to the roof edge.


The prototype belongs to the T 478.2 class, which was developed as a freight version of the versatile T 478.1 diesel-electric locomotives. The T 478.2 locomotives were almost identical in design to their predecessors but were not equipped with a steam heating boiler for passenger coaches, making them primarily intended for freight service.


The model features fine detailing, numerous separately attached parts, and an authentic appearance. Etched state emblems are also included, further enhancing the realistic character of this legendary locomotive.
