New for 2026: The design of the distinctive diesel-electric T669, built by CKD Prague, originated from export orders for six-axle diesel locomotives intended for heavy shunting service in the former Soviet Union and Albania. After the successful testing of three prototype locomotives, designated ČME for the Soviet Union and T669.0 for the CSD, series production began immediately. As CKD Prague was fully occupied with export orders at the time, production was transferred to ZTS Dubnica in Slovakia. The locomotive's excellent running characteristics resulted in a further CSD order in 1967, with the new locomotives entering service as Class T669.1. Additional locomotives were supplied directly to industrial railway operators. Within a short time, these locomotives became an essential part of major marshalling yards throughout the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia. Modifications to the frame reduced the axle load on some locomotives. The first modified locomotive, T669 0082, was subsequently redesignated T669 1001.

Built around a precisely engineered heavy die-cast zinc frame and powered by a motor with twin flywheels, the model offers excellent running characteristics and prototype-accurate pulling power. Four axles are driven, while one wheelset in each bogie is fitted with traction tyres to increase tractive effort. The traction tyres are arranged diagonally. The model features a PluX22 digital interface and is prepared for the installation of a sound decoder.
