The 742 156-3 CD diesel locomotive is a powerful locomotive designed for medium-duty shunting and mainline operations. The model faithfully reproduces the 3rd production series version with ribbed cab side panels. It also features a buffer beam with an additional socket for wagon door control. Fine detailing, numerous separately fitted parts and a clear cab-through view highlight the high quality of the model.

 

The prototype was developed in the 1970s as a lighter version of the T 448 industrial locomotive, when the former Czechoslovak State Railways required powerful diesel locomotives for freight and shunting services. The T 466.2 series was produced by CKD in Prague from 1977 in nine production series with minor differences. A total of 494 locomotives were built and remained in service with CSD until 1986.

 

The model stands out with its fine detailing, filigree safety railings and realistic appearance. Its high-quality construction makes it suitable for both layout operation and display collections.
