New for 2026 – The T 679.2 diesel locomotive is a faithful H0-scale model that impresses with its distinctive appearance and intricate detailing. Typical features of the prototype include separately applied grab irons in front of the driver's cabs and a well-laid-out roof design. Compared to the Class 132, the T 679.2 is shorter, yet it conveys a massive and imposing impression thanks to its lowered front end sections. The robust detailing of the bogies also merits attention, contributing to an authentic representation of the real locomotive.

 

This PIKO Expert series model features a motor with two flywheels, a heavy die-cast zinc frame, and cardan-shaft drive to all four axles. Two wheels are fitted with traction tires, arranged diagonally. This design ensures excellent running characteristics and high tractive power during operation on a model layout. The locomotive is equipped with a PluX22 digital interface and a close-coupling mechanism. Lighting changes according to the direction of travel, alternating between white and red lights. The model can be retrofitted with sound using the PIKO 56540 sound decoder (not included).
