New in 2022: The latest generation of decoders from PIKO – the PIKO SmartDecoder (PSD) – offers model railway enthusiasts a wide range of advanced functions and modern technologies.

The decoder supports all common digital formats, such as DCC with RailComPlus®, Motorola and is also basically compatible with mfx®. Thanks to the Plug & Play function, it can be quickly and easily registered with suitable digital control units.

The decoder includes automatic motor control that adapts to the current operating conditions. The extended function mapping up to F68 allows for very detailed setting of the model functions. The decoder also allows for a two-way internal connection that synchronizes the sound with the motor control and the individual function outputs.

A realistic sound presentation is ensured by a system of up to 8 sound channels with a total length of up to 8 minutes of audio tracks. Stable operation is supported by an innovative energy management system that helps ensure smooth, uninterrupted travel. In addition, improved temperature distribution contributes to a longer decoder service life.

The decoder supports all common braking modes, including ABC slow travel and ABC automatic shuttle operation.

This model replaces the sound decoder 56442.
